For years I've been using flimsy, plastic sawhorses that were donated to me, and eventually they all broke, all at once. Typically I'm using these for wood storage as well as project work - lots of flattening table tops. With that in mind I wanted to have some stout, almost work bench like, ponies for me to drag about and wail on.
I do like the trestle look so I did a quick design of these complete with a project plan, measured drawings, and cut list. My goal was to use it as a teaching tool in the shop.
These are available for free and please adapt them for your own use. They were indeed a great project for a novice woodworker to put together while I sat back with a cup of coffee per usual.
